Announcements:

New Alumni Support Group:
On August 13th I launched a new drop-in virtual alumni support group. The aim for this group is to simply offer an additional layer of support for community members. What makes this different from a traditional meeting is there is no script and cross-talk is highly encouraged. Alumni are free to talk to share their recovery challenges and successes and seek supportive feedback from their peers. This is a great way to connect with others and build a recovery support network. Join us Fridays from 1pm-2pm MST: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82813273002 Password: Support

New Support Group for Retirees:
At the suggestion of one of our alumni, Gayla T, we are starting a virtual support group for retirees. Not to limit our reach, the group will welcome those who are 50+, even if you are not yet retired. The group will start on September 1st and be offered on Wednesdays 1pm-2pm MST.

We have some fun summer-time activities in the works and we'd love for you to participate!
  • Join us for a Boulder-area alumni gathering on Saturday, July 31st. We will hold a park meeting and then venture to the Boulder farmer's market
  • To the hills we go! We are planning both a men's and women's hike for early August. We would love to make this a recurring activity

Have S.AF.E Fun:

In this month's recovery resource spotlight, CeDAR Connects Contributor, Jean, interviews the maestro behind Sober AF Entertainment, Duke Rumley, a true tour-de-force within the recovery community.

Clothing & Toiletry Pantry:

We recently just launched a clothing & toiletry pantry. I would from, time to time, receive requests for patients in need and then it dawned on me to create a pantry so we could have items on hand for our community members. 2 of our alumni helped to gather and organize an initial round of items. I've always sought to create various avenues for our alumni community to give back - from time, to service to monetary donations and now, this is just one more way we can continue to support our community.
